Full Meal Tour

This is the longer tour, of about 3.5 hours (10.00am - 13.30pm). The first part of the tour is the same as the taster tour.  About midday the 'tasters'leave and the cooking lesson starts.
Private groups can also be arranged for lunch if there are no public bookings, or could be arranged for an evening meal, 5.30pm - 9.00pm
We can arrange a three wheeler (tuk) to pick you up and drop you off from any location between Dondra temple and Talalla. If coming from further away, please arrange your own transport.

Learn about and experience cinnamon

True cinnamon is unique to Sri Lanka. Learn something of the historical, economic, health and agricultural aspects of cinnamon. Tour the cinnamon plantation, and harvest your own bit of cinnamon to take away with you. Watch, or get as hands on as you like.

Taste a range of dishes with cinnamon

We will present a range of dishes, some sweet and some savoury, made with cinnamon. Taste them, and discuss with Ashan how they are made. Get ideas for your party food when you get back home! Feel free to explore the garden too, or go on perfecting your cinnamon peeling technique!  Don't spoil your lunch, though......

Learn about and experience Sri Lankan 'rice 'n curry'

Ashan will give you a cooking lesson, with cinnamon featuring in most dishes. Again, get as involved as you like. Help Ashan and/or take notes and pictures and/or chill in the garden and wander around. But you will definitely want to be involved when we all sit at the table!

Typically there will be 1 meat curry, 1 dhal (lentil) curry, 1 vegetable curry, 1 tempered vegetable, 1 sambol, chutney and rice. All suitable for vegetarians and vegans, except the meat dish! We don't provide a pudding.

Note about drinks

Please note that we are not licensed, and so can not sell alcohol. You can bring your own, or we can organise a three wheeler to take empties and bring you back some beers. We usually have empties here! We provide drinking water. It is from our well, and is boiled and filtered. We will usually have a carbonated drink too, but it is pot luck as to what!
